LICENSING AND MEMBERSHIPS
Many inspectors and inspection companies will Boast about being members of various organizations or "Certified" home inspectors or "Master Home Inspectors". Don't be fooled by titles. The State of Texas has three levels of licensed home inspectors. These are Apprentice, Real Estate Inspector, and Professional Inspector. When it comes down to it, we are all dictated by TREC as to what we do and do not inspect, no matter what your title or affiliation.
We hold a Professional Inspectors License # 9136. We are not members of ASHI, NACHI, AHI, or any other paid membership organisation. These are great organisations and any Home Inspector outside of Texas would be wise to join. However, Texas has the strongest and most demanding detailed requirements of any State in this great Union. If you are in good standing and licensed with TREC, the requirements to obtain membership of these other organisations are to simply pay a fee and you can call yourself a "Certified Master Inspector". We still have access to all the training and material as they have, we just don't don't subscribe to their fees or policies of advertising to Real Estate Agents. We want you to know we work for our clients and only our clients without exception.
